James Hogwood is the Founder and Executive Director of the National Self-Defense Agency, Inc 501c3, the Author of Movement and Control, The Police Officers Complete Guide to Defensive Tactics.   Controlled F.O.R.C.E. level I, Level II, Riot Control, Firearms, and F.O.R.C.E. Operator International Master Instructor.  Retired after serving a combined 25 years in Law Enforcement holding several titles Operational and Training Supervisor, Special Investigation Supervisor, Field Training Program Supervisor, Federal Speed Reduction Program Supervisor, Administration Supervisor (highest sergeant rank obtainable), C.E.R.T. Team Commander and Reconnaissance Specialist.

11 years of College in the studies of Governmental Leadership and Management with a Masters in Municipal Management and Graduate in Human Resources (Certificate Programs). Over 150 Certificates in Specialized training in Law Enforcement with an emphasis on Defensive Tactics and SWAT, Investigations, and Leadership.  I currently hold the Title of Grand Master (8th Degree) and I’m a International Master Instructor Hall of Fame Member in the Martial Arts with over 44 years experience.
